McIlroy-DeChambeau Major Final Round Pairing And Odds To Win 2025 Masters Tournament (2025)

McIlroy Leads 2025 Masters by 2-Shots With Career Grand Slam In Site

Rory McIlroy fired a second straight 66 Saturday to take a 2-shot lead over Bryson DeChambeau into the final round of the 2025 Masters Tournament at Augusta National. The 35-year-old Irishman set a record Saturday with five consecutive 3’s to start his round which included an eagle 3 chip-in on the par 5 second hole. His par 3 on hole No. 6 made it six-in-a-row as fans at Augusta and around the world felt the energy and excitement during the popular players round.

McIlroy would make another eagle 3 on the par 5 at No. 15 to extend his lead. But DeChambeau made birdies at No. 15, 16 and 18 to cut the margin to 2-shots into Sunday’s final round.

A date with destiny awaits Sunday afternoon as McIlroy shoots to complete the career Grand Slam having won the U.S. Open (2011), PGA Championship (2012, 2015) and Open Championship (2014).

McIlroy will try to hold off DeChambeau, who dramatically defeated McIlroy last summer at the U.S. Open. The only other golfer within 5-shots of McIlroy is Canadian Corey Conners, who is chasing his first major championship win.

The final pairing of Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau will tee off at 2:30 p.m. ET and likely decide the 2025 Masters in a golf showdown fans can hardly wait for Sunday afternoon. Both players will have huge fan support, which McIlroy acknowledged is a pleasure to receive from the patrons.

“It’s amazing to have the support," McIlroy said in a post-round press conference Saturday. ”These patrons and galleries are a pleasure to play in front of each and every year we come back."

DeChambeau also acknowledged the fans and expects Sunday to be “the grandest stage we’ve had in a long time, and we both want to win really badly. It’s going to be an electric atmosphere.”

DeChambeau says he loves James Bond movies, and will probably watch one ahead of his round, Pierce Brosnan lead preferred. As such, DeChambeau hopes he has a Golden Eye Sunday with strong approach shots and premium putting with a huge prize ahead and hoping Tomorrow Never Dies.

Based on the stats, stage and splendid play of McIlroy, it’s likely to be DeChambeau that will Die Another Day.

McIlroy and DeChambeau along with Scheffler were top players and popular bets to win The Masters ahead of the tournament. BetOnline brand manager Dave Mason noted on X that a McIlroy win is good for the sportsbook and a medium-sized win overall. But a DeChambeau victory to slip on the Green Jacket is a medium to large loss for the sportsbook with more money wagered on Bryson at bigger pre-tournament odds greater than 20/1 as a popular player at many leading online sportsbooks.

Masters odds and matchups are taking more action at the leading online sportsbooks, but fans in Georgia attending the event and watching The Masters in the Peach state are unable to place bets at top online U.S. Sportsbooks with no regulated betting yet approved in Georgia. Sadly that will continue next week as well for the Signature Event in South Carolina for the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town.

But Panama-based BetOnline has been a market leader in providing more betting options for fans, and especially those sports-crazed fans in Georgia, South Carolina and the three most populous states California, Texas and Florida.

Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Ben Hogan and Gene Sarazen are the only golfers to win all four major championships. Some of golf’s greats and Hall of Famer’s have also won three legs of the Grand Slam including Arnold Palmers, Tom Watson, Byron Nelson, Sam Snead, Lee Trevino, Ray Floyd, Walter Hagen, Tommy Armour, Phil Mickelson and Jordan Spieth, who will try to complete the Grand Slam again next month at the PGA Championship.

Jason Day acknowledged McIlroy’s magnificent play this week, year and throughout his career with a potential 29th PGA Tour win and first Masters title Sunday at Augusta to complete the career Grand Slam.

“He’s the best player of our generation for sure. He just makes things look so easy,” Day said following Round 3 Saturday. "He seems focused and determined, and running off so much confidence and belief in his game, like he knows it’s going to happen. When you’re playing like that, it’s very dangerous.”

The Masters champion has played in the final group Sunday each of the last eight years. Sunday’s final pairing of McIlroy and DeChambeau has set up a colossal championship stage, and you can watch and wager that Rory will have the fans roaring in support of the 2025 Masters champion.

You can bet on it.
